Dear Members of CAI-GRIE,
It is a great honor to serve as your President for 2010.
There are many of us I know who have said from time to time, "If I had my way, I would do this or that." Well, the proof in the pudding so they say, is in the eating and at the risk of mixing my metaphors, I know I now have a chance to put my money where my mouth has been...
I am proud of all the past successes and achievements of this Chapter. If some of you only knew the struggles and the triumphs. But it is not enough. The success of any organization rests on how it will change as the future changes. It will be important that we see those changes and build on them with what has gone before. We must respond to the needs of the future but always bear in mind the fundamentals of who we are. I am relying on my forefathers and myforward-thinking co-members to make this happen.
Which brings me to my theme for 2010.
Up, Up and Away...Connect, Build and Play
Connecting — is vital to the success of this organization. I will not hesitate to connect with you to ask your opinion or for your help in areas that I know you have more experience or knowledge. My hope is that you will connect with me as well with your ideas and inspirations.
Building — Once we have connection we can build. When we build something together, we build relationships. When we build relationships, we build our business and our personal goals.
Playing — Let's be people that other people want to play with. Let's have fun…it makes the job so much easier.
I believe passionately in professionalism and the quality of the education offered to our members. These two attributes are crucial to the success and livelihood of this organization and its members.
Try as I may, I cannot do it alone.
From the building of the pyramids, the moon landing and the achievements of the Beatles, it demonstrates that the talents of several people collectively changed a culture. In fact, team work gets us fired up and our contribution becomes more vital. Together we get more ideas, find more solutions and end up with better results.
The wonderful irony is that when working together, the results for each individual are bigger, brighter and infinitely rewarding.
These are the goals and challenges for 2010. I promise to do my best to bring us to "OUR" goal and I hope at the end of my term you will be happy at what "WE" have achieved "TOGETHER."
I thank you in advance for your efforts and your maneuvering the bumps along the way. After all, the only people not making mistakes are the ones not doing anything.
