Advanced Developer Transition
The Birth of a Community: First Concept to Final Close

This course will be split into two parts from 5:00pm to 7:00pm over two consecutive days and held virtually on Zoom. This course is a live course, so unlike a pre-recorded webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to ask these experts questions and get the answers they need in real-time.

This course is geared towards individuals who have a strong understanding of the basic essentials of community management, but welcome anyone looking for a deep dive into this subject.

Iger Wankel Bonkowski, LLP

Christopher J. Bonkowski, Partner at Iger Wankel Bonkowski, LLP, has significant experience in the areas of general civil litigation including property law, insurance litigation, business/commercial litigation, and products liability law. He now focuses his practice primarily in the areas of real estate, corporate law with an emphasis on representing community associations of all sizes. 


Mr.  Bonkowski is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, where he earned degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Mr. Bonkowski graduated from Chapman University School of Law, where he was awarded the CALI award for scholastic excellence in Civil Trial Practice and Taxation of Business Organizations. While at Chapman University, Mr. Bonkowski served as an Executive Board member and Technology Editor for Chapman Nexus Journal of Law, and also served as the Admissions Chair for the Appellate Moot Court Honors Board.


Mr. Bonkowski has published several articles and lectured on various topics concerning common interest developments. Mr. Bonkowski currently serves as co-chair of the CAI OC Symposium and Expo Committee, and serves as a member of the CAI OC Legislative Support Committee.


Mr. Bonkowski is licensed to practice in the State of California, as well as in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.  He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and successfully completed the LACBA Trial Advocacy Program.

John Leverett, attorney and shareholder at Jackson Tidus, represents domestic and overseas real estate developers and builders in connection with the conception, planning, documentation, and regulatory approval of commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. John is a graduate of UC Irvine and Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

Kristie Rose

Kristie Rose-Zapp, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
FirstService Residential, AAMC

Kristie Rose-Zapp, CMCA, AMS, PCAM is the Sr. Vice President at FirstService Residential, AAMC and is responsible for the supervision of current association community management clients and also coordinates and manages new contracts, maintains client relations, and spearheads continued growth throughout the Santa Clarita area. Kristie plays an integral role in the recruiting and hiring of staff members, the establishment of new association management accounts and the development and implementation of company procedures and policies.

Kristie is the Sr. Vice President of Community Management for Santa Clarita area bringing over 17 years of portfolio and master-planned community manager experience. She is an active member in the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and served on the Inland Empire CAI Board of Directors from 2010-2015. She earned her PCAM which is the highest professional designation in the industry. Most recently, Kristie was awarded CAI Greater Inland Empire Chapter's Industry Innovation of the Year Award 2021.

Jessica Sedgwick, CMCA, AMS
Associa-PCM, AAMC

Jessica Sedgwick, CMCA, AMS, is a General Manager with Associa-Equity Management and holds both the CMCA and AMS designations. She has been in the property management industry for over ten years.   She is the recipient of the CAI Greater Inland Empire Chapter’s 2018 Committee of the Year and 2019 On-Site Manager of the Year Awards. She is currently serving as a Director for the CAI-GRIE Chapter Board, was a former Co-Chair to the CAI-GRIE Education Committee and current member.

Jessica received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from UCLA. She has been married to her husband Brandon for 10 years and has a 5-year-old daughter Mia.
